START

DAY 1: CUSCO - INCA QUARRY TRAIL

Start early with pickup from your hotel within the historic center of Cusco, along the Quarry Inca Trail until you reach Choquequilla, a small ceremonial site where the Incas worshiped the moon. We will head to the starting point of the hike in Rafq'a, and meet the riders who join us on the hike. After an hour of walking, we will arrive at the small community of Socma. We will continue to the Perolniyoc waterfall viewpoint, an opportunity to take photos and take a lunch break. The adventure will continue to the camp (3700 m above sea level). We should arrive at the camp around lunch time. After lunch, we will go out to explore the Q'orimarca archaeological site, which once served as a checkpoint for the Incas.

DAY 2: INCA QUARRY TRAIL

This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the hike. The hike (approximately 3 hours) will take us to the top of the first Puccaqasa pass (4370 m). After enjoying the picturesque views of the valley, we continued with a short hike before stopping for lunch. Then, we will hike to Kuychicassa (approximately 2 hours), the highest pass of the hike (4450 m). From here, we will descend to the sacred site that the Incas called Intipunku (Gate of the Sun), overlooking the Nevado Verónica mountain. You will be directed to the campsite which is a stone's throw from Choquetacarpo.

DAY 3: INCA QUARRY TRAIL

Today's hike is all downhill. The first stop is the incomplete Kachiqata quarry, where the Incas were intercepted by the Spanish. Around noon, the walk comes to an end. We will explore the cobblestone streets of Ollantaytambo before taking the train ride to Aguas Calientes. Visiting the city's natural hot springs is a recommended way to spend the afternoon once you arrive. Spend the night in a comfortable hotel before tomorrow's visit to Machu Picchu.

DAY 4: INCA QUARRY TRAIL Y MACHUPICCHU

Today you will explore the incredible ruins of Machu Picchu with a local guide. Your tour lasts approximately two hours, and then there will be free time to explore on your own. When it's all over, return to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time to have lunch and then take the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival our transportation will be waiting for you to return to Cusco.
