START

DAY 1: CUSCO – WAYLLABAMBA A/C
Our team will pick you up from your hotel located within the historic center of Cusco very early in the morning, to take a bus to Chilca at Km 82, where the hike begins along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The bus ride is beautiful and you will have the opportunity to enjoy a spectacular view of the Peruvian Andes. The first stop is for about 20 minutes in the well-known Inca town "Ollantaytambo" to continue the bus trip to the starting point of your hike. Here we unpack and prepare to begin the hike with the guide and trekking equipment (please have your passport at hand). After approximately three hours of walking and passing a viewpoint, where you will see a beautiful Inca building known as "Llactapata" at the base of the mountains, Tarayoc is the stop for lunch. In the afternoon you will continue walking to the first camp at 3,000 meters, called Wayllabamba. Dinner will be at the camp.

DAY 2: WAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYO D/A/C
Early in the morning accompanied by a good, hot cup of tea we will prepare for this beautiful day. After breakfast, the most difficult and surprising part of our adventure will begin, walking to the highest point of the Inca Trail, from where you will have an incredible panoramic view of the entire area and observe different types of microclimates (4,215 meters). After a 6-hour hike, you will reach the first pass, called Warmiwañusca or Dead Woman's Pass, where you will get a tremendous feeling of achievement mixed with relief of having reached the pass. After reaching the summit, you will continue the hike to Pacaymayo, where you will have lunch and spend the night at the camp (altitude 3,600 meters above sea level).

DAY 3: PACAYMAYO – WIÑAYWAYNA D/A/C
We consider this to be the most beautiful and longest day due to the different microclimate and arrival in the cloud forest. After breakfast, the hike begins towards the second pass of the Inca Trail, 3,950 meters above sea level. Along the way, you have a guided tour of the Runkurakay archaeological complex and the Sayacmarca Inca citadel. Later we will continue our journey to Phuyupatamarca (town above the clouds), another important archaeological monument where we will have our lunch. After a short rest, the descent narrows to one of the most beautiful Inca sites on the Inca Trail, Wiñay Huayna (means Always Young). The camp is near this complex, we will leave our belongings and then enjoy a guided tour of this impressive archaeological site. Dinner will be served at our camp, where we will have the opportunity to say goodbye to our porter and cook friends and be grateful for this incredible and beautiful experience in the Andes.

DAY 4 WIÑAYWAYNA - MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO D
After breakfast, we will begin our walk of approximately one and a half hours through the cloud forest to reach the Puerta del Sol (Inti Punku), from where we will have the first panoramic view of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival at the citadel, the guided tour is approximately two hours around the magnificent archaeological complex, visiting the main sites and monuments. Machu Picchu is located 2,400 meters above sea level. After touring this extraordinary work of engineering, you will have free time to walk around on your own and then take the bus down to Aguas Calientes. From there you will take a train back to Ollantaytambo (time and destination indicated on your train ticket). Our transportation will be waiting for your arrival to head back to Cusco, ending a few days of adventures and new experiences.
